LIFE IS AN EVERYDAY HUMDRUM AFFAIR:
The morning sun peeps through my curtains
Showering the bedspread in a spray of light
Strangely incandesent, irridescent, transcendent ...
My eyes flicker open to this sudden flicker of life
Banishing the still silence of night into the dungeons of darkness...
Arise, awake and live your life -
Command the shrill chirping of birds!
And put of the blue,
I realise that I am very much alive!
And out of the bed I leap -
To spread some more of happiness
Make the world a better place to live on -
A lil less hate, a lil more love.
That's how life goes on and probably everyone's life goes on like that, in the same way. But do we ever sit back and understand the real significance of our human existence - by human I mean, the particular form of life that we have been endowed with. Even animals, cats, dogs, insects, fishes do have a world, a life of their own but is it so transcendental, so varied, colorful, multitudinous like ours? I very much doubt it. So if we have been gifted the life of a human being by virtue of our Karma or by sheer chance for that matter, there must be some reason behind it. And I believe it is our moral duty to explore the reasons for this boon and act upon it.
And that's what I am going to do in all my subsequent posts - trace down the story of my life in every minute detail and "critically appreciate " every single event, or memory of note that has had an impact on my life so far. Also I will retrospect on the situation in question and analyze how things might have turned out to be, had I acted differently, may be a bit more sensibly, reasonably or even for that matter, patiently. Now the question that rises is why would I like to go back down the memory lane and relive those moments again, at times even coming face to face with my mistakes, my thoughtlessness or maybe frivolousness? Moments never repeat themselves exactly and besides, life is not a time-machine where I can simply rewind, pause and relive the past. But yes, this exercise would give me vital introspection- golden lessons that would perhaps help me live a better, happier, and way more peaceful life in the coming years of my life.
But then, you will ask me, how will it help you by reading about the story of my life? Then the simple answer is this - friend if you consider yourself as one of those honest, innocent souls, bursting with love, pride, zeal and enthusiasm to do your bit to make the world a better place to live on, if a smile on a beggar's face brings joy to your heart, if you live for your parents, friends, family and if, Inspite of doing all this, you are painfully shocked by the scant response that society gives you, then this is your story too.
And this blog is dedicated to all those dreamers out there who aspire to live every moment of their life to the fullest, irrespective of the turmoils, obstacles, hurdles, challenges and incumbents that modern society has to offer its denizens.
Here's to a great start !
